Zirconium and sterling silver sandwich ring.
Zirconium is an elemental metal that is very similar to titanium. Its primary use is for coating fuel rods in nuclear reactors. The main difference between titanium and zirconium is the colour of zirconium after a special heating process. During the heating treatment, the zirconium will turn black and leave an extremely hard ceramic layer on the surface. This layer is hard and durable and will not scratch under normal conditions.
