I began making jewellery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is where I met Shaughan Williams who would later become my teacher, mentor and friend.  He was the first to introduce me to the world of metalwork, and inspired me to enroll in an introductory silversmithing course at the Nova Scotia School of Art and Design.  I then traveled to New Zealand and worked with jeweller Ben Flynn, and other local designers there.  Upon returning to Canada in 2002, I took a  jewellery Techniques course through Vancouver Community College and studied with Dominique Brechault.  Since then, I’ve been building up my studio and teaching myself new skills.  So, chance encounters with talented and generous artists, a bit of schooling and a lot of patience with my own process of trial and error has brought my work to where is it today.  I am currently making my jewellery out of a cozy studio in my home in Vancouver.
